It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was removed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
